History of Nadi Vigyana
Nadi vigyana is discover by thousands years back by Lord Shiva and Nandi was expert of Nadi vigyana. Ravana has written Arka Prakash on Nadi vigyana. later on this method of diagnosis disappear and again come in existence in time of Mongol. first description is found in Sarangdhar Samhita 13AC, Sarangdhar has describe 8 method of diagnosis i.e. - Nadi (pulse), Mala (stool, wax in ear etc) Mutra (urine), Jiwha (Tongue), Driga (eye), Akriti (body appearance) etc. it is understand that in era of Muslim emperor, female are diagnosed by only palpation of radial pulse of hand because of their all the body covered by burka. and after this method was so popularised and a number of experts come in to existence. Method for seeing the Nadi
various methods are adopted to seeing the nadi. Nadi can be perceived at wrist of hand of patient in vaidya hand by index, middle and ring finger. Generally, Nadi should be examine empty stomach, in the morning. however, in emergency, Nadi can be examine any time. Vaidya should sit infront of patient. Elbow of patient should be rest on left hand of vaidya's hand with slightly bended so, the muscle of hand should be in relax and index, middle and ring finger of right hand of vaidy should be kept on patient wrist with equal pressure. index, middle and ring finger examine the vata, pitta, kapha of patient respectively. one by one vata, pitta, and kapha dosas is perceive by increasing and decreasing the pressure of index, middle and ring finger. combination of finger is perceive the DWANDAJ DOSHAS i.e. index-middle for vata-pitta, middle-ring for pitta-kapha and index-ring finger tip for vata-kapha. simultaneously, pulp tip of all three finger records the TRIDOSHAS. in male right hand and in female left hand is use for nadi examination.
