Hemorrhoids

Pile or Hemorrhoid is an abnormal fleshy growth in anorectal region. In Ayurveda this disease understood as Arsha. According to modern medicine it refers to a condition in which the veins around the anus or lower rectum are swollen and inflamed.

It is one of the commonest ailments which affect mankind. Incidence of piles Increases with age. Approx. 50% of people over the age of 50 years are suffering from hemorrhoid. It May be found in all age groups and male affected from this disease more then women. The Men and Female ratio is 2:1.Hemorrhoids are either inside the anus (internal) or under the skin around the anus (external). Hemorrhoids may result from straining to move stool. Other contributing factors include pregnancy, aging, chronic constipation or diarrhea, and anal intercourse.

In Ayurveda, piles are classified by number of methods i.e. according to clinical feature, type, dosa, prognosis etc. The common Feature of pile are Bleeding, Prolapse, Pain, Discharge, Anal irritation, Secondary anemia. This Disease Diagnosed by various of methods like History, Inspection, Digital examination, Proctoscopy, Endoscopy, Barium enema x-ray, Ultrasonography, MRI
