Introduction of Ayurvedic Surgical Management

The Ayurveda is science of life. It has its own tool and methods for curing and treating a disease person. Sushruta was a great Surgeon of world who developed various methods for treating the disease by Surgical and Para surgical methods. He used all his ornaments to treat the Arbuda, He give eight principle method of surgery as

1. Chedana (excision)
2. Bhedana (incision)
3. Lekhana (scraping or curettage)
4. Eshana (exploration or probing)
5. Aharana (extraction)
6. Vedana (puncturing)
7. Visravana (Blood letting
8. Sivana (Suturing)

By this eight measure every aspects of surgery were completed. Still all these measure in use in various type of surgical conditions. He have treat the Arbuda by surgery, According to him the tumor should be removed by Chedana (excision). In modern surgery, tumor is removed by excision.

The Chedana Karma is performed in such tumor where no Marma is present. If Arbuda is near the Marma sthana or it can't removed by surgery then it should be treated with other Para surgical measures like Kshara Karma, Agni karma etc.

The Chedana Karma is not deferent form today's surgery. In cancer surgery all the present techniques are taken in account........................................
