Introduction of Sirovasti Karma
Vasti karmais an important Procedure of Pancha Karma therapy. In ancient time, term Vasti or Basti is used for animal urinary bladder, In ayurveda Vasti Karma is a Procedure, in which the Medicated preparations are given by Vasti Yantra. Vasti yantra is made by use of Animal bladder. Mainly Vasti Karma is used for insertion of Ayurvedic Medicine in the rectum.
However, Vasti is may given to other part of body. according to Name of part, vasti also term as Uttar Vasti, Vrina Vasti, Sirovasti etc. In Ayurveda Vasti yantra prepared by urinary bladder of animal. Now in Modern era it is very funny and tricky to prepare such type of instruments for giving the drug to the body when some advance methods are available. they use urinary bladder, because of it flexibility and softness. presently a number of things are available i.e. rubber and plastic products which replace the use of urinary bladder. In Sirovasti, the drugs is given at head with help of Vasti yantra. however, It is slightly dissimilar to the Guda (Rectal) Vasti or Uttar (urethera or Vaginal) Vasti.
The Vasti yantra is used for keeping the drug in it and help to push the drug in to the rectum or urethra or vagina. The Head is Not a tubular but a Ovular structure. hence, the drug can't keep in it. To apply the head, it is necessary to drug keep on it. It is done by wrapping the animal skin or urinary bladder to the head in this manner that the drug could not drop down from the head.............
