.....The Standard Kshara Sutra was made up of Snuhi Ksheer, Apamarga kshara and Haridra. After establishment of utility of Kshara Sutra in Anal fistula (Bhagandara), a number of Kshara Sutra has been tried and discarded. Several modification were done in composition of Kshara Sutra. and milk of papaya, Takana kshara, snuhi extract, milk of udumber, kadali kshara etc were used but none of them was upto the mark. Now a day Guggulu based kshara sutra is being under trial in supervision of Professor Dr. Manoranjan Shahu used by S.S.Hospital. Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh also have done his reseach under Dr. Manoranjan Shahu (Professor, Department of Shlaya tantra, B.H.U) & Dr. G. Nath (Reader, Department of Pathology, B.H.U). The Research was "Role of Guggulu based Kshara Sutra in Recurrent High Anal Fistula". (For Further details Please ask) Gold Medal was awarded to this research work by Dr. P.H.Kulkarni (Pune) for 2002.
